Bangladesh Shows 12.5 Percent Growth
05.01.2005
Bangladesh's
export earnings jumped 12.5 percent in the first nine months of this fiscal year
over the same period last year, largely due to a boost in the textile sector.
The
nation earned US$6.09 billion (euro4.73 billion) from July, 2004 to March, 2005,
the New Age daily reported, quoting the country's Export Promotion Bureau statistics.
The textile sector accounted for US$4.72 billion (euro3.66 billion).
The
country hopes the figure will reach US$8.57 billion (euro6.65 billion) by the
end of the fiscal year on June 30.
