Hemayet Uddin
Born in June 1948, Mr. Hemayetuddin completed his Masters in Sociology from the University of Dhaka and joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1974.
During his career as a professional diplomat Mr. Hemayetuddin held various diplomatic assignments in New Delhi (1981-1984), Brussels (1984-1987), Washington (1991-1995) and Beijing (1996-1998) as well as in the headquarters in Dhaka
From May, 2001 to November, 2003, he was Bangledesh Ambassador to Thailand. He then served as High Commissioner to India from November 2003 to March 2005.
He was Foreign Secretary from March 2005 to December 2006.
