Visiting Vice Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam H.E Dang Dinh Quy met the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam MP today, 06 August 2017. The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam is now visiting Bangladesh to lead the Vietnam delegation for the first Foreign Office Consultation between the Foreign Ministries of Bangladesh and Vietnam.
State Minister Shahriar Alam highlighted longstanding friendship and goodwill between the two countries and stressed on the need for more exchange of visits at high political level. Praising Vietnam’s remarkable economic development in the last decade, State Minister stressed on intensifying trade and investment between Bangladesh and Vietnam. He emphasized on the need for more business to business contact between the two countries and invited Vietnam to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh through Joint venture. State Minister Shahriar Alam sought Vietnam’s cooperation in the Agriculture and Fisheries sector.
The Vice Minister of Vietnam emphasized on the need for materializing the existing potentials of greater trade and investment between Bangladesh and Vietnam. H.E Dang Dinh Quy conveyed Vietnam’s interest to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries. He also suggested the investors of Vietnam and Bangladesh to go for exploring investment opportunities in both the countries.
State Minister Shahriar Alam sought Vietnam’s support for Bangladesh’s desire to become a Sectoral dialogue partner of ASEAN. Vice Minister Dang Dinh Quy welcomed Bangladesh’s interest to build institutional relations with the ASEAN.
