Business Eswatini proposes to sign MoU with FBCCI

 

Dhaka, 08 February 2023:

 

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam, who is on a two-day bilateral official visit to Eswatini, had a meeting with the Business Eswatini, the apex chamber of commerce and industry, representatives at the Conference Hall in Mbabane yesterday (07 February). Business Eswatini is the federation of chambers of commerce and industry of Eswatini as well as the federation of the employees association of Eswatini. The apex chamber is the organization that represents agriculture, textiles, mining, financial services and other business bodies of Eswatini.

 

The State Minister urged for developing relations between Bangladesh chambers and Business Eswatini. Citing Bangladesh as a most suitable destination for business and investment, he mentioned about the growing purchasing power of Bangladeshi consumers as well as a rapidly growing middle class in Bangladesh. He referred to the various industries like textiles, pharmaceuticals and other sectors where cooperation may be forged. He invited the Eswatinian business delegation to participate at the 50th anniversary of the establishment of FBCCI to be held in March, 2023 in Dhaka. 

 

Both sides recognized the role of women business persons in the economic sectors and agreed to establish exchanges between women entrepreneurs. The CEO of Business Eswatini invited Bangladeshi businessmen to do business as well as to invest in Eswatini citing Eswatini as a stable country with skilled labour force. The apex chamber presented a draft MoU to the Bangladesh side for consideration of FBCCI for conclusion. The chamber suggested establishing joint ventures between Bangladesh and Eswatini entrepreneurs.
